Serial Experiments Lain is an anime of the psychological horror genre which was first aired in 1998. It follow the 14 year old girl, Lain Iwakura, as she discovers about the Wired which is like the real life equivalent of the internet.
Upon entering class, Lain is first greeted by the sound of Julie crying while Reika and Alice comfort her. As Lain wondered why Julie is crying, Alice and Reika are the ones to inform her that many people have been recieving an email from Chisa. Chisa, the girl who had committed suicide the previous week.
